Featured Seller - Stover Tile Design

What part of the world are you in?

The beautiful central coast of California

What does customer service mean to you?

It means making sure that the customer walks away not just happy, but excited to tell someone else about their experience.

What is your most memorable experience with a customer?

I would have to say it was being able to convo with a customer getting their custom order figured out and then being able to get it done that day.
They were so happy.

What sets you apart from other sellers who are selling similar items?

My custom serving stands, cakestands, and the ability to make custom changes to them depending on the customer's needs.

How did you learn the skills that make you successful today?

I learned how to cut and polish stone while growing up and doing tile work with my father. The building of my pieces has just been a trial and error, self taught type of thing.

What is your goal for the next year?

I want to get my website and blog fully operational and promote, promote, promote, so that the shop will get known and take care of itself when my day job gets busy again.

What keeps you motivated when sales are slow?

Right now, I'm so new, my motivation is learning how to promote better and implimenting what I learn.

What do you do to attract new clients and encourage repeat business?

I spend a lot of time trying to "get my name out there" by visiting the forums, just started my blog, I twitter, and I offer sales from time to time.

If you could share one piece of advice with someone who is considering opening their own store of handmade items, what would it be?

Just do it! It is really easy to get started, but be patient. Hit the forums and make friends, they will help you learn how to promote yourself.
